In 2006, Gautam Ramadurai, after having an epiphany in the middle of a marvellously unnecessary lecture, decided to move his backside, and do something unboring for a change . Originally intended as a platform for the misguided and often misunderstood engineer to get some jazz, ||Shabd|| has evolved over time and now caters to a vast majority of engineers, who actually believe fun is an essential ingredient in a healthy human diet. The Editorial Board takes pride in hosting ||Shabd|| with scores of volunteers, to bring to the table everything from debate to creative writing to mad ads, in both English and Kannada. A two-day celebration of art and literature, ||Shabd|| has something for everyone. Hop on, then!
This year, for the eleventh edition of ||SHABD||, we've got grand plans! We're gonna be all shush about it for now though. Anyway, after years of working hard, here are a few figures!
The ||SHABD|| logo has a pen nib and an art brush, representing exactly what ||SHABD|| stands for - A literary and Art festival. By the way, no one really knows why the ||SHABD|| logo has those two pipes - '||' - on either sides. Probably just our seniors doing some dijanks.
